Launch of the Global Sport Science Hall of Fame: Preserving the Future of Sport Science Website: hof.ascs.krThe Asian Society for Sport Convergence Sciences (ASCS) has officially launched the Global Sport Science Hall of Fame, a global initiative aimed at recognizing outstanding achievements in sport science and preserving them for future generations. This initiative seeks to identify distinguished scholars who have contributed to the advancement of sport science beyond the Asia-Pacific region and to systematically document and archive their academic accomplishments. The project is led by ASCS and is supported by an international panel of distinguished sport science scholars to ensure academic credibility and global recognition. The selection process comprehensively evaluates candidates based on originality of research, academic impact, international contributions, and sustained commitment to the advancement of sport science. Through this rigorous evaluation system, the Hall of Fame aspires to establish itself as a prestigious global academic platform beyond a conventional award program. The Global Sport Science Hall of Fame goes beyond mere recognition of achievements by serving as a repository of intellectual assets and a bridge to future generations. The academic records and scholarly journeys of inductees will be preserved in a digital archive, making them accessible to researchers worldwide. This initiative is expected to contribute to documenting the historical development of sport science while also providing a foundation for future research directions. Furthermore, the Hall of Fame features a structured award system, including the Global Sport Leadership Grand Award, Asia Sport Scientist Award, and Rising Excellent Scholar Award. This framework acknowledges scholars across all career stages, from emerging researchers to senior academics, thereby fostering sustainable development in sport science and supporting the growth of future scholars. Looking ahead, the Hall of Fame aims to expand its role as a hub for international academic exchange and collaboration. Through induction ceremonies, international conferences, academic forums, and collaborative research networks, it is expected to strengthen global partnerships and lead international discourse in the field of sport science. President Kyungsik Kim stated, “The Global Sport Science Hall of Fame serves as a symbolic platform connecting the past, present, and future of sport science. By sharing and disseminating the achievements of world-class scholars, we will continue to advance sport science as a discipline that contributes to improving human health and quality of life.”This initiative is anticipated to play a pivotal role in enhancing the academic standing of sport science and strengthening the global research ecosystem.
